BMI was a Success!!!

We got word late last night that the BMI was successful and that Sofia's birth mother still wants to continue with the adoption. She was able to kiss and hug her (although Mayra said 'Sofia no like that') and Mayra was able to take pictures of them together. This is a huge hurdle!! All we need to do is have PGN approve and release our case and she is legally ours!! This could happen any day or it could take weeks. There is no rhyme or reason to their insane process. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!

The Birth Mother Interview is Tomorrow!!

Wow. I am kinda freaking out here. We were very lucky to have the BMI scheduled so quickly after being resubmitted to PGN. I just want this part to be over with and have everything go well. Please pray that she still wants to continue with the adoption. We will know how everything went sometime tomorrow late in the day. In the meantime, look at our cutie!!!

WE ARE BACK IN PGN!!!

Yes!!! After 4 and a half months we are finally back in PGN. We were submitted a week ago, but I just found out this morning. Now we are waiting for the birth mother interview (BMI) and then the we will pray for the courts to release us shortly after. Then she will be legally OURS! We are just so thrilled to be back in the game, so to speak. Sofia will be 16 months old next week. We need to get her home.

We received great news a few days ago!! Our attorney in Guatemala finally was able to obtain the rectified BC from the government. This means that after 4 and a half months of waiting for this stupid paper, we can finally get resubmitted back into PGN. I think we will be resubmitted sometime this week, but will definitely be checking up daily!! I am just so happy this part is over. What a waste of time this has been.

We are back from visiting Sofia. OMG!!!!!! She is amazing in every way. First of all, she loves her brother Evan like you would not believe. He can make her laugh at the drop of a hat. She came to me right away, but she is getting older and had times when she would just stare into space and then cry. Duh!!!! Can you imagine how she feels missing the only mother she knows. Although she knows me as mami, Mayra is her mami right now. It is heartbreaking what the government there is doing to these children who realistically could be home at a very young age, but to prove their political point, use our babies as pawns. Ok, enough of my anti-Guatemala policy. Sofia loved me up and felt most comfortable in my arms. I was her safe person. When ever she got nervous she came to me. Of course, she never really was more than 3 feet away from me or else she would cry. Yes, it made me feel special, but posed somewhat of a problem when I had to pee. I am now a pro at peeing with a 15 month old on my lap. She is beautiful beyond compare, as you can see!! We love her more every moment and cannot wait to bring her home. Enjoy the pictures!!!
