No DNA Yet

Talk about incompetent! All the attorney needs to do is show the new BC and passport to the US Embassy and they will give him authorization for the DNA test. Do you think he has done this yet? NO, he has not. Hopefully he will do this tomorrow so we can get this stupid DNA test done. If he gets authorization tomorrow, we may get the test done Friday, but I bet it will be Monday. UGH!!! We most likely will be traveling on November 16th to have her placed in our arms forever. That is my guess, but in Guatemala, anything goes!

We Have A Passport!!!

Sofia was taken to Guatemala City today to get her passport. Unlike in the US, in Guatemala, it only takes 1 hour to have it issued. Now we are just waiting for the 2nd DNA test to be taken!! OMG, we are so close.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!

I was able to get the BC released!!!! She should be home in 3 and a half weeks!!!! This is it. No more ,"Oh she'll be home soon' or 'Next month'. This is the real deal. And, oh am I going to have my hands full! I forget that babies turn into toddlers! AHHHHHH!!!!! I cannot wait to get her home. Tim and the boys are just going to melt at her. She is precious beyond belief.

I Am Going To Guat On Monday - Not For Pickup

I am going to Guatemala on Monday, unfortunately it will not be to bring Sofia home. I am going to look into what the hold up is for her new birth certificate. This is something that should have taken 2 weeks and now we are at 7 weeks. Something is not right. I don't know who I can trust when it comes to giving me correct information, so I am going to deal with this myself. It is my hope that I will be able to get the BC released and if not, then at least find out what the problem is and do what I can to speed it up. Of course, I get to see my baby while I am there!!!!! Mayra is going to stay with me at the hotel with Sofia. I need someone to stay with Sofia while I run around town taking care of business, so it just makes sense for Mayra to stay. It will be like a pajama party, only she speaks Spanish and I speak English. I mean how much would you pay to be a fly on the wall watching us try to communicate in the room at night! HA! I don't even care because I will be with Sofia!!!!! Please pray that I am able to get this BC released so she can come home. And no, she will not, no matter what happens, be coming home with me this trip. We will have to travel one more time to pick her up.

A Glimmer Of Hope!!

Our attorney went to RENAP on Thursday (after a bunch of drama that I won't even burden you with) and was told that the BC was not ready, but that it would be ready on Wednesday. I'll believe it when he has it in his hands, but it does give me something to look forward to. I mean, how long does it take to type SOFIA CIKRA on a piece of stinkin paper.

Back to business.........if they release the BC to him on Wednesday, we are looking at the week of November 10th for travel. Don't you remember me saying she should be home by March?? March - November..........same difference, right? NOT! I just am so longing for her lately. Seeing her on the webcam has been such a blessing, but it also makes me sad that she is getting so big without me.

Isn't this getting a little ridiculous? I mean, come on!!! STILL NO BC!! I am numb to this whole thing already. It's just another day. Granted, this is much easier than the PGN wait because Sofia is ours and no one can take her away now, but jeez!!!!!! This BC wait should have been a 2-3 day process, and yesterday marked 5 weeks. I was so suspicious that something was wrong (like my crap-ass agency holding my BC so they can get more foster money) that I hired someone in Guatemala to go check on the BC for me. Believe it or not, my agency was not lying, the BC is not ready yet. Maybe it will be today. What's the big deal, SHE'S JUST ANOTHER DAY OLDER WITHOUT ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I Could Just Scream!

The BC is still not ready!! The attorney went back to RENAP on Monday and it was not ready to be released. Of course another person I know waiting for her Guatemala City BC, who was submitted a week after me, received her's yesterday. UGH!!!! I just want to scream!!!! The agency said they would put an email into him again today to see if there is any new news. If he is not able to get it today, it pushes our pickup to at least the week of Nov. 3rd. Looks like I'll be voting on an absetee ballot. Shit.
